SharpShooter

Ricocheting so quietly
It is frighteningly loud
can’t hear my tears..
they are speaking words that shatter to the ground before they reach your ears..
Shrapnel
Shooting from those lips that were once so gentle
Words flying at me like daggers
Bulls eye..
Empty you say
Meaningless you say
but oh it hurts so..
deadly
Painful
each one deeper than the last
The Wounds are fatal
Can’t dodge the bullets anymore
Can’t stop the hemorrhaging
Hear the ripping
It’s my heart bleeding out
Can’t keep up with this walk of pain
Who told you your aim wasn’t deadly
That your words are harmless
They pierce so clean
So fine so deep
they slice right through
You’re burying me alive..

  • I feel the many emotions within the words many write. I decided to share a poem you have not read before….just wanted to make you smile my sister.

    A Genuine Smile

A genuine smile joyfully brings to a day
Much more value than one really knows
It’s more than the gold light of the sun
More soothing than the moons soft glow

It reaches down deep within one’s heart
Making such inspired feelings to arise
It makes a loves flame leap forward
From the dormant place where it might lie

It causes a young heart to begin to pound
And it brings about a shortness of breath
It adds new meaning to life in one’s mind
Along with a radiance that will always last

It’s a treasure chest full of beautiful gems
More valuable than a pearl of great worth
For a genuine smile is valued so much more
Than any treasure to be found on this earth.

One of my favorite poems I wrote before I married my wife.

You have those qualities my sister, and one day someone very lucky will reward and treasure them! Have a wonderful Sunday!
