funny tricks of time..

slips through the fingers 
catching us off guard 
till we are lamenting
grasping at straws..
the moments evaporating
as it slaps us in the face.. 
slow down time 
pull me out of this race..
would it matter 
make a difference in my actions 
would I notice while 
walking through it..
or is it only obvious when we are on the other side of time
living moments like they aren't mine..
rushing through them so quickly 
losing sight of all that's real 
instead of soaking up the all feels 
until we realize trickery just steals.. 
left to face what we lost in space 
wishing
hoping
this existence
shows us a little grace..
