How do I stand at the abyss and not fall in..
the nightmare a reality
They need me to stay strong..
How do I keep my heart from giving in
It feels what my eyes see
It hears the violent truths my ears hear
It can’t escape what my mind can’t fathom..
I’m haunted
This space can’t exist without you
my walls will come tumbling down
Crushing me
Who will save me if I can’t save you
my heart is so weary
How do I protect you
Keep the chains of pain away from you
my heart runs cold from fear..
My eyes will close with yours
So I can see your smile
Hear your giggles
Feel those little hands reaching out and touching me
my heart needs yours..
maybe one day I’ll breathe again
maybe not
What I’d give to breath your air for a lifetime..

all your emotions whirling about
I taste the sweetness of your love in the air
surrounding me with every breath I take
My Heart pounding to the intake of you
until I surrender
Unrelenting..
A blessing or a curse to care so..
Your gaze – seeing through to my soul
It’s beautiful
A love that fills me to my core
making me complete
I’ll bear your wind and live in the whirlwind that follows..

The haze is lifting
The picture more clear
Show yourself
Where do you hide..
She hears the silent tears
She feels them too
Trying to follow the ache of sadness.. it’s no where to be found
The image appears
every where she looks..
big brown eyes
full of despair & weariness
looking back
The heaviness sinks in when she finally stops avoiding the shadow
It’s her
She’s been running all her days
the road has been long but
the end is near – the dark is lightening
and she takes deep breaths
realizing memories don’t define her
That first step
so tentative, so shaky
as new life is coming into view..
Who is she
she’s not sure
But She smiles at what She sees
The mirror has shattered
Glass splintered everywhere..
and she sees how wonderful the many sides of her can be..

one that has spun out of control
Inner demons ruling your mind while you struggle to break free..
let us take the fear, the pain and the demons away
we won’t let them stay..
find the reasons
Hold on to them tight
this is your fight
Forgive yourself
it was not, is not yours to carry
you’re living in bondage..
a sad empty broken place of untruths in your mind and heart..
Depleting you of a satisfied soul.. therein lies that beautiful peace you’re seeking..
I feel the battles of your heart
Let’s fight harder
We won’t turn away
We won’t give up on you today
You are perfectly wonderfully made..
Angels are stronger than demons
you will see light in the dark

You hindered her from the fullness of what she’s meant to be
Shutting her down
A walking yoke of bondage
suffocated by oppression
She chose to let it happen because she believed the lies..
No more
She’s awakened with a cataclysmic jolt
No longer empty or lost
She has learned her worth..
strongholds withering
No longer afraid of the pain
but rather what it has already cost her..
arms opened wide
She welcomes the truth wrapping around her
setting her free..

weariness took its’ toll
Hold me silently
No regrets
No sorrys
I am scared
I need you now to smile at me in that knowing way
The crinkle of your eyes meant for me
It’s all been said in words
It’s what is not said that hurts..
I need your words – empty or not
Your laugh that always let
me know it would be ok..
