Awakened..

The river flowing gently 
cascading over rocks 
harmonious sound of water 
washing away loss..
the sun is shining brightly 
illuminating the earth in golden hues 
bringing new color
to my mind of blues..
fragrance of lilies filling the air 
walking through colorful gardens 
sensing you everywhere 
speaks to my heart
of how much you care.. 
separate space 
silent gaps 
will not erase all that’s there.. 
we revel in sharing 
though we cannot taste 
the beauty of living 
what our hearts are giving..
there is healing 
when we are willing 
baring heart mind and soul 
to the beauty all around us 
making us whole..

everything is in place 
perfection outlining every space 
your spirit within me 
not a soul knew my face
love changed my gaze..
no longer held down by the haze of darkness 
a presence so bright 
like the stars lighting the night 
you lit up my life..
revealing each part of me 
loving me in spite..
no carving out this heart 
no boxing me away 
exactly who I am 
is she who’s here to stay..

Rain..
pure, gentle, pelting, 
cascading from the sky
covering the earth with rebirth..
cleansing the hurt 
drowning out pain 
my heart gains insight 
yet scars remain
cut so deep 
diseased with change..

made you a habit 
so it began
a particular quality 
hard to win..
an involuntary addiction
I end where you begin..

incurable malady -
there is no win
uproot our hearts 
and wash them clean..
catch my disease 
before we cease..

the walls kept moving
in so tight 
my feet kicking and shoving 
looking for light 
till I was wrung out 
strung out 
nowhere to go..
the bright dimmed
realizing there was no win
I gave in..
my time got small 
haunted by the past 
searching for things that couldn’t last..
letting go to the innocence i once knew 
I dare my soul not to break 
compulsive and chronic 
I’ll attach it to hope..
desires and daydreams 
pull me upstream 
taking me to that place between sleep and awake..
mind is lit up 
addictions renewed 
love is my anchor 
I’ll no longer hate..

watching the sun set one last time 
the beauty in the darkness
the hope in the empty
And the warmth in the coldness of goodbyes..
There is a morning after 
We won’t have to search anymore..
fascinated how we can become undone 
yet remain as one..

Let’s not hate nor escape 
we aren’t glass
we won’t break 
let’s celebrate each moment 
we awake...
It takes us up 
It takes us down
often times left spinning round..
the tick is tocking 
the beauty of life talking 
waiting to share its’ moments of love..
Don’t despair 
be the rare one who knows 
what he’s won..
impossible to hold 
it disintegrates into gold..
time is always new 
the ticking has just begun..

sunshine and tears 
quite the mess 
but not less than you hoped

irrational tears

we remain the same..


accepting our alien parts 
of the hearts
abundant, flourishing 
in ways to foretell..
we’ll learn love anew 
gradually growing 
the most beautiful bloom..

so forlorn..

Words indelible
quieting my heart..
unspoken things
between the lines
staining my soul..
with each moment they fade
making me whole..
closing the book
we are no more
between the beats of my heart
forever more..
